Поморская лодия ПИЛИГРИМ в ходе своей Кругосветки идёт сейчас Тихим океаном вдоль берегов Аляски и 31 августа пришла в порт Хомер на полуострове Кенай. Экипаж под руководством капитана Сергея Синельника привёл судно из порта Сьюард, где состав уменьшился до трёх человек. Позади 1000 миль от порта Кетчикан, откуда "Пилигрим" вышел 12 августа 2021. Планы просты: в зависимости от погоды Анкоридж или Кадьяк? Переход в водах Аляски: Кетчикан - Хомер. Изменения в составе экипажа "Пилигрима" в Сьюарде
Самое главное: в порту Кетчикан частично изменился состав экипажа "Пилигрима": завершили свой участок маршрута рулевые Денис Евстюхин и Стив Ласкер - они стартовали в Сиэтле, в самом начале тихоокеанского этапа Кругосветки.
В состав бравой дружины лодии в порту Кетчикан, на следующий этап маршрута, входят Александр Уткин - наш старый друг, участник многих этапов Кругосветки "Пилигрима". В дружину вошёл и путешественник Виталий Лищенко (он из Сиэтла). По плану эти мореходы планируются дойти до Сьюарда, или Хомера или Анкориджа - как получится на деле!?
Друзья - наши дорогие, постоянные болельщики! Вы же, конечно, знаете, что замены в экипаже по ходу маршрута "Пилигрима" - это вовсе не ординарное событие, а даже и вовсе неординарное! Может быть, для тех кто только подключается к сообществу "Морской клуб ПИЛИГРИМ" стоит рассказать, что нет такого человека, кто бы после перехода по морю-океану на красавице-лодии - старинном парусном судне - захотел бы просто так отказаться от продолжения путешествия - нет и нет и нет! - лишь самые сложнейшие обстоятельства и обязательства заставляют человека отказываться от морского плавания под парусами и возвращаться на грешную землю, на суетное мирское сухопутье. Каждый мореход вынужден просто-таки переступать через себя, даже можно сказать, наступать на горло собственной песне, чтобы сойти на берег: замена в экипаже лодии - это почти что личная трагедия для путешественника.
Итак, 12 августа 2021 команда под управлением капитана Сергея Синельника вывела лодию из порта Кетчикан курсом на север, проливом Тонгасс Нэрроу, между островами Ревиллагигедо и имени Гравина. В составе:
- Сергей СИНЕЛЬНИК - капитан лодии, заслуженный путешественник России;
- Алексей ВОЛЧОК - ст. вахтенный рулевой, фотограф и видеооператор экспедиции;
- Александр УТКИН - рулевой лодии, кок
- Виталий ЛИЩЕНКО - рулевой лодии
Бравой четвёрке предстояло пройти 1000 миль водами Тихого океана, вдоль Аляски, и главное: выйти из-под защиты островов в открытый океан - это серьёзное испытание как для "Пилигрима", так и для команды - последний раз такое было, когда в 2019 году лодия пересекала Атлантический океан, или когда в 2017 году судно едва вырвалось из-под реального шторма в Балтийском море.
Первый выход между островами Коронации и Уоррен был, словно бы, репетицией: подняли паруса и при порывах ветра до 35 узлов скорость лодии доходила до 8 узлов. Парус даже не рифили. И как положено: долбанул дождь, видимость упала да "носовой" - это когда форштевень лодии от места рулевого едва видно.
Где-то возле бортов, за маревом дождя и невидимостью дымки вдруг слышались тяжёлые выдохи: и только когда более-менее развиднело, стало ясно что это стаи горбатых китов подходят поприветствовать старинное деревянное парусное судно, и тяжко вздыхают выпуская запасённый и использованный в лёгких воздух. Их добротная память сохранило от предков многосотлетние образы таких же деревянных судов как наш "Пилигрим", на которых приходили сюда на свою Аляску русские мореплаватели в том же XVIII веке, когда родился и предок "Пилигрима".
А когда вставали на стоянки в бухтах необитаемых островов, то волки выли приветствуя мореходов, а медведи выходили на берега понюхать лодию и удивлялись, не веря своему нюху: как это могло быть, что лодия пахла соснами, выросшими на другой стороне Земного шарика.
После первого выхода в открытый океан удалось спрятаться от непогоды за остров Баранова, но второй выход через Кросс Саунд в Тихий океан был уже неизбежностью: от этой точки и до Закрытого района траловой добычи креветки в заливе Принца Уильяма - 380 миль - спрятаться удалось только в Якутате и в бухте Айси, но это были лишь кратковременные передышки для ожидания погоды.
Так, 26 августа пришли в Сьюард, где вновь произошло изменение в команде: на берег сошёл рулевой Виталий Лищенко. Далее на борту осталось трое
И 31 августа экипаж привёл "Пилигрима" в порт Хомер.
БУТЫЛОЧНАЯ ПОЧТА: как это работает!?
Как известно, во время Кругосветки "Пилигрима" запланировано множество интересных мероприятий для любителей истории мореплаваний и коллекционеров, так что, бутылочная почта - самое подходящее в этом направлении.
Специально для Кругосветных плаваний лодии Министерством бутылочной почты была выпущена уникальная коллекционная серия конвертов, вкладышей, марок и штампов. Также на каждое послание ставится официальная печать "Пилигрима". Получается оригинальный комплект - чрезвычайно редкий и весьма представительный, но вопрос состоит в двух вариантах: или коллекционер заказывает комплект Бутылочной почты почтовой наземной связью, тогда команда и капитан "Пилигрима" выпускают послание в портах; и второе - это запуск бутылки с посланием в море - уникальное и красивое событие!
За время плаваний поморской лодии с 2017 года было выпущено множество оригиналов Бутылочной почты, но пока ни одно послание не вернулось, не было найдено. В водах Аляски вновь были проведены запуски Бутылочной почты с борта "Пилигрима": теперь ждём - кто найдёт бутылку с посланием и объявит о находке!? Выпуски были проведены в открытом море, так что вариантов движения посланий в бутылках по волнам Тихого океана множество: вплоть до сверхдальних перемещений от Северной Америки через весь океан до Евразии. И такое вполне может быть!
Итак, поморская лодия "Пилигрим" на маршруте! Дальнейший маршрут вам хорошо известен, друзья! Экспедиция идёт на север, вдоль берегов Аляски: после порта Хомер может быть Анкоридж, а там и вдоль Алеутских островов, где главная плановая точка - это остров Кадьяк!
Там и встречаемся!

Crossing the waters of Alaska: Ketchikan - Homer. "Pilgrim" crew changes in Seward.

The waters of Alaska conventionally geographically begin 65 km along the route to the port of Ketchikan from the south. Canada is behind us, and our lodya is finally in Alaska.
The most important thing: in the port of Ketchikan, the crew of the Pilgrim has partially changed: the helmsmen Denis Evstyukhin and Steve Lasker have completed their section of the route - they started in Seattle, at the very beginning of the Pacific stage of the Circumnavigation.
The brave squad of lodya in the port of Ketchikan, on the next stage of the route, includes Alexander Utkin - our old friend, a participant in many stages of the "Pilgrim" Circumnavigation. The traveler Vitaly Lischenko (he is from Seattle) also joined the squad. According to the plan, these sailors are planned to reach Seward, or Homer or Anchorage - how will it turn out in practice!?
Friends - our dear, constant strong fans! Of course, you know that the replacement of the crew along the route of the "Pilgrim" is not an ordinary event at all, but even an extraordinary one! Maybe, for those who are just connecting to the "PILGRIM Sea Club" community, it is worth telling that there is no such person who, after crossing the sea-ocean on a beautiful lodya - an old sailing ship - would just want to refuse to continue the journey - no and no and no! - only the most difficult circumstances and obligations force a person to abandon sea sailing and return to the sinful land, to the vain worldly land. Every sailor is forced to simply step over himself, you can even say, step on the throat of his own song in order to go ashore: replacing a boat and the crew is almost a personal tragedy for a traveler.
So, on August 12, 2021, a team led by Captain Sergei Sinelnik took the lodya out of the port of Ketchikan, heading north, through the Tongass Narrow, between the islands of Revillagigedo and Gravina. As part of:
- Sergey SINELNIK - captain of the Lodya, Honored Traveler of Russia;
- Alexey VOLCHOK - senior watch helmsman, photographer and videographer of the expedition;
- Alexander UTKIN - helmsman, cook
- Vitaly LISCHENKO - helmsman of the lodya
The brave four had to go 1000 miles through the waters of the Pacific Ocean, along Alaska, and most importantly: getting out from under the protection of the islands into the open ocean is a serious test for both the Pilgrim and the team - the last time this happened was when in 2019 the boat crossed the Atlantic Ocean, or when in 2017 the ship barely escaped from a real storm in the Baltic Sea.
The first exit between the Coronation and Warren Islands was, as it were, a rehearsal: the sails were raised and with wind gusts up to 35 knots, the speed of the boat reached 8 knots. The sail was not even reefed. And as it should be: the rain hit, visibility fell until named the "none-bow" is when the bow of the boat is barely visible from the helmsman's seat.
Somewhere near the sides, behind the haze of rain and the invisibility, heavy exhalations were suddenly heard: and only when it was more or less clear, it became clear that these were flocks of humpback whales coming to greet an old wooden sailing ship, and they were sighing heavily releasing the air stored and used in the lungs. Their good memory has preserved from their ancestors the many-hundred-year-old images of the same wooden ships as our "Pilgrim", on which Russian navigators came here to their Alaska in the same XVIII century, when the ancestor of the"Pilgrim" was born.
And when we stood up in the bays of uninhabited islands, the wolves howled into the harsh gray sky greeting the sailors, and the bears went out to the shores to smell the lodya and were surprised, not believing their nose: how could it be that lodya smelled like pine trees grown on the other side of the globe?
After the first trip to the open ocean, we managed to hide from the bad weather behind Baranov Island, but the second exit through Cross Sound to the Pacific Ocean was already inevitable: from this point to the Closed area of shrimp trawling in Prince William Bay - 380 miles - we managed to hide only in Yakutat and in Aisi Bay, but these were only short-term respites for waiting for the weather.
So, on August 26, 2021 we came to Seward, where again there was a change in the team: the helmsman Vitaly Lischenko went ashore. Then there were three people left on board
And on August 31, the crew brought the "Pilgrim" to the port of Homer.
BOTTLE MAIL: how does it work!?
As you know, during the "Pilgrim" Circumnavigation, many interesting events are planned for lovers of the history of navigation and collectors, so bottle mail is the most suitable in this direction.
Especially for Circumnavigation of Lodya The Ministry of Bottle Mail has issued a unique collection series of envelopes, inserts and stamps. Also, the official seal of the "Pilgrim" is put on each message. It turns out that the original set is extremely rare and very representative, but the question consists of two options: either the collector orders a set of Bottle mail by postal land communication, then the crew and the captain of the Pilgrim release a message in the ports; and the second is the launch of a bottle with a message in the sea - a unique and beautiful event!
During the voyages of the Pomor lodya since 2017, many originals of Bottle Mail have been released, but so far not a single message has been returned, has not been found. In the waters of Alaska, Bottle Mail was launched again from the Pilgrim: now we are waiting for someone to find a bottle with a message and announce the find!? The releases were carried out on the high seas, so there are many options for the movement of messages in bottles on the waves of the Pacific Ocean: up to ultra-long movements from North America across the entire ocean to Eurasia. And this may well be!
So, the Pomor lodya "Pilgrim" is on the route!
The further route is well known to you, friends! The expedition goes north, along the coast of Alaska: after the port of Homer, there may be Anchorage, and then along the Aleutian Islands, where the main planned point is Kodiak Island!
